Casita Elena is situated in Cartaya, a true Spanish Village in the province of Huelva from where Christopher Columbus set sail to discover America. Cartaya is typically Spanish in every way, including its hospitality and it would appear there are more fiestas than working days. Cartaya is easily reached by new motor ways and is 20 minutes from the border with Portugal, and one hour from Faro Airport and one hour from Seville.

Being a coastal resort Cartaya and the surrounding areas are famous for their sea food. Cartaya is surrounded by famous nature reserves, making it a natural venue for bird watchers all over Europe. Tourism has not found its way here yet, so there is still a very relaxed and tranquil atmosphere.

Casita Elena is situated within half a mile of the beautiful pine forests that stretch thousands of acres down to the coast. Miles of sandy beaches stretch from El Rompido to Puerto Umbria, washed by the clean waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

Activities include, (apart from getting browned off!) bird watching, golfing, horse riding (beginners and advanced including dressage) sailing, fishing and in the month of May each local village is famous for living its medieval forest way of life, with eating, drinking, singing and dancing late into the night. The Romeria with its warmth and hospitality, is a fiesta not to be missed, as everyone is made welcome. The Romeria is specially renowned for its Spanish flamenco dress, friendliness with none of the drunken, vulgarity experienced in some other European countries. But above all everyone is safe,
especially children. It is a time for peace, harmony and  tranquility. Similar activities in Portugal are within easy reach.

Casita Elena, is situated within the grounds of Finca Los Pinos (the owner's residence) within pine trees and orange groves and is within 5 minutes from the local village, 12 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean with its unspoiled beaches. Also within 5 minutes of the River Piedras.

A country cottage ( Finca ) suitable for two couples and consisting of:
Entrance hall
Fully equipped bathroom, including washing machine
Modern kitchen dinette, sitting room with TV, air conditioning + heating
Two large bedrooms with views to the stables, orange groves, and Pine trees.
Fully equipped bedrooms one with double bed and the other with two single beds
Included is the use of a private swimming pool.
The Casita Elena has its own private entrance, parking  and is surrounded by a patio and the evening dinner can be taken either in the dinette or on the large patio, accessed via the two large patio doors from the sitting room.
